Diet, Weight loss, Diet tips, Weight Watchers, Slimming. Diets, Health, Fitness, Diet Classes, Keeping Fit, Weight loss tips, Slimming Tips.

Taking Green Tea extract they say may help to control blood sugar levels in people who are overweight.

Green Tea has previously been linked to improving cardiovascular health but now new research has shown to controlling insulin levels.

In a three month trial of 56 patients, half had a Green Tea daily capsule while the rest had a placebo.

They found that the ones taking the Green Tea extract had a significant greater reduction in blood pressure, glucose levels dropped and even inflammation was significantly lower.

The researchers think inflammation may some how contribute to poor blood sugar control and high blood pressure.

XENICAL TABLETS FOR WEIGHT LOSS...

Diet, Weight loss, Diet tips, Weight Watchers, Slimming. Diets, Health, Fitness, Diet Classes, Keeping Fit, Weight loss tips, Slimming Tips.

After being unsuccessful at losing weight I decided to go and see my GP for some advice. She then referred me to a nurse who put me onto the British Heart Foundation Diet.

This is basically, three meals a day (portion control being very important) with a treat of up to 100 calories a day.

The weight loss has been slow but I never gained any and over 12 weeks and lost 10lbs.

The nurse started to get to know me well over the 12 weeks and knew that I was getting a bit anxious about my weight loss with foot surgery imminent which would totally incapacitate me for a while.

She suggested that I had a chat with my GP about going onto the weight loss pill Xenical.

After a chat with my GP she has approved a month's trial of the drug in the hope it might help to boost the weight loss for me.

She advised that I waited until I was on one crutch rather than two before I start the trial, as the side effect can be frequent trips to the loo.

Tomorrow, I have the stitches out and should hopefully be down to one crutch so I plan to start the drug on Saturday.

I checked my weight this morning and I have gained 1lb over the last two weeks while I have been totally incapacitated and only allowed up to go to the loo. So I guess really that's not to bad.

I will be writing my diary on the results of Xenical in the hope that they will work for me as I have only heard good results on this particular weight loss pill.

HEALTH AND WEIGHT LOSS WORKOUT...

Diet, Weight loss, Diet tips, Weight Watchers, Slimming. Diets, Health, Fitness, Diet Classes, Keeping Fit, Weight loss tips, Slimming Tips.

They say that it's easy to make an excuse not to workout, with common excuses like, 'I'm too busy', or 'I feel self-conscious', and of course nowadays, 'I can't afford the gym membership'.

Well, with access to fitness DVD's and Wifely there is no excuse to the comment of 'I feel self conscious' or 'I can't afford to go to the gym' as you can do it in the privacy of your own home for free.

Being motivated is hard for anyone who doesn't exercise but if you wrote down a list of reasons why you should work out with 'for my health's sake', at the top of your list, I am sure you could think of more to add to it, like, 'looking better in your clothes' or 'feeling more energetic' or even 'for my kids'. These should help to remind you why you are doing it.

For me, personally, I need to do some form of exercise for my health sake.

My excuse has been the usual as well as my health related problem which is chronic back pain but now an added problem of osteoarthritis in my big toe!!!!

I cannot walk far without pain, could not possibly follow a DVD or WIFit exercise regime without hurting myself, so I have not bothered with either. Now, with my latest problem which could have developed through being overweight, I realise I have to do something about it.

So, I've bought a foot cycle which I am planning on using after my foot surgery this week. Until I am able to try it I will use it using my arms instead of my feet. So, watch this space for my results using this type of exercise machine
